Brit-ahoy!

So here it is, my new year’s resolution, albeit a month late: my blog!!

I think it only fair to mention that this latest endeavour is the result of some coercion on the part of friends who will remain unnamed. The enthusiasm and wit (or lack thereof) that goes into this space I take sole credit for, even on the lackluster days where to some drawing up covenants for property law can be equated to pulling teeth. At any rate, you asked for it, so here it is…

My muse: London, England and all its diversity – the culture, the people, the history. I suppose it is fitting that my blog picks up now at a time where I am exploring, and accordingly appreciating, more than ever all that the city has to offer. The first four months were reserved for acts of habit where we would visit and revisit cherished places with cherished people, make new discoveries, and fall in love with the same place all over again – what great memories! Those places are still amazing and it speaks volumes that the same place can still keep you coming back.

But now London is expanding beyond the stops on the blue Picadilly line and the fusion of cultures is evident in more than people and food – it’s the museums and monuments that also tell a story, that are evidence of a history, the way history should be told.

Before leaving for London, the journey was repeatedly referred to as a life experience and now that I’ve guiltlessly lifted my head out of any given one of my law textbooks, I am actually starting to live that mantra; I am appreciating the experience. Come along for the ride!
